The learning of conversations: Communicate in Chinese aims to allow viewers to become adept at using Mandarin Chinese to communicate in daily life. With situational dialogues, new words, common expressions, cultural background, language points, and substitutional drills, it integrates comprehension with practical usage. The teaching materials concentrate on spoken Chinese. Through the character's daily activities presented in situational dialogues, language context is reflected and students will find their interest grow as they gradually grasp the ability to communicate in Chinese. "Communicate in Chinese" is published in 24 DVDs, figuring 40 lessons, 36 topics and 4 reviews. Each lesson is divided into three parts, the first two explain the dialogue, cultural background, and language points, while the third contains substitution drills of common expressions. On-screen Pinyin, Chinese and English subtitles for new vocabularies and common expressions cultivate a language environment and leave a lasting impression.
